BLACK CHANA RECIPE

I'm sharing brown chickpeas(kala Chana) recipe with you. it's a great source of essential vitamins and minerals which is good for your overall health and also it's rich source of iron and is essential for pregnant women and lactating women.

Consumption of brown chick pea helps in keeping any skin problem. It makes your skin glow naturally.

Ingredients;

1. 1cup kala Chana(brown chickpeas)

2. 1tsp cumin seeds

3. 2 medium onions finely chopped

4. 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste

5. 3 medium tomatoes, pureed

6. 1tsp red chili powder or as per your taste

7. Salt as per taste

8. 1tsp garam masala

9. Coriander leaves handful chopped

10. 5 tablespoon oil 

     Water as needed


Method ;

1. Wash the chickpeas with water with couple of times and soak it in drinking water for at least 8 hours or overnight. 

2. Take the chickpeas along with the water used for soaking in a pressure cooker, add salt, some more water if required and close the cooker.

3. Cook for 4 to5 whistle on high then lower the heat let it cook for 15to16 minutes. set aside and let the pressure release naturally.

4. Once it is done, open the cooker and strain the chickpeas, also reserve the water in a bowl.

5. Heat oil in the same pressure cooker make sure you have wiped off the water before adding oil in to the cooker.

6. Add cumin seeds and saute, after few seconds add onions and cook for around 4-5 minutes until light brown in colour.

7.Add ginger garlic paste, and green chilli. cook for 1-2 minutes until the raw smell goes away.

8. Add tomato puree and stir, then add salt ,red chili powder and cook till oil starts separating.

9. After 3to4 minutes add garam masala,cooked cheakpea.mix well and finally add some more water.

10. Close the lid of the pressure cooker and cook for 2 whistle, switch off the gas and serve hot and sprinkle some coriander leaves on it.

 Serve black chick pea along with jeera rice and curd or paratha and raita 😋😊
